why is sound important

Sound is really important in Film as it sets atmosphere and tone. George lucas stated that sound is 50 percent of the film, although there are 3 other senses, but that just shows how important sound is. Sound is also very important as i believe it really tells us the context and genre of the film. It creates realisim and without sound, every image looks flat, boring and confusing.
